Gals and guys, please excuse the mess: my projects are now off the table and on my guitar amplifier, and while I can’t reveal too much about what lies in present disarray, I can tell you about my latest collaboration with bro-extraordinaire Alan Aragon. With just a few juicy posts on internet fitness forums Alan became an online legend, and now I, with my great coercive powers, have culled the Brofessor himself out of his PubMed hibernation.

Besides serving time with Men’s Health as their weight loss coach and trolling online forums as a superhero of skepticism, he’s been hitting up the podcast circuit and pumping out issue after issue of his Research Review.

But now it’s time the Brofessor take center stage. He and I will host a sparkling new podcast titled Brotology 101. The show will address both lay press topics, and, with equal verve, those compelling the publication of new scientific research. We’ll also spotlight the best threads and debates in the online fitness world sure to ruffle some avian threads. It’s going to be a great show and should be dropping in early October.

What’s even cooler, I want you, my readers, to participate. Post in the comments section topics you’d like discussed on the show and any questions you want answered. We’ll try to fit in as much reader content as we can.

Thanks for participating, I think you’ll really enjoy the end product. Stay tuned for the early October release of Brotology 101 with your hosts Ryan Zielonka and Alan Aragon.

Really looking forward to this, should be great.

As for topics recomp’ing would be a good one

Can’t wait for this.

A topic I would like to see covered would be the entire issue about easing back into normal caloric intake after a period of intense or semi-intense dieting.

Good stuff. This looks like its next stop so I guess I’ll be getting on Alan’s bandwagon when it gets here.

A few topics:
-maintaining strength levels over periods of lower training or maybe even a brief hiatus, or how to get back to where you were quickly. Eg, sports scenarios like laying off during the season, not training b/c of an injury, etc.
-Diet mythbusters: I think this is where Alan shines and his advice on different macronutrients and timings etc is extremely helpful. If it was consolidated and lumped together into some general guidelines depending on goals that would go an incredibly long way.

Definitely looking forward to the podcast. There’s something about excellent information infused with humor that is just irresistable. Is it going to be available on Itunes? (Because I’m lazy like that and just want to subscribe ;)
I second the request for recomp (is it even really possible and if so how) and minimizing the after-dieting fallout. Especially for crazy figure chicks.
Thanks!

Niiiice, most definitely subscribing to this podcast! This is my first time visiting your site, Ryan, but I’m a huge fan of Alan and this podcast will make those long cardio sessions that much more enjoyable. Best of luck!

has this podcast been posted yet? i checked itunes and couldn’t find it.

@Ben

The Podcast is on the back-burner for the time being. Things have been hectic for Alan and I don’t want to impose any additional stress on the Brofessor. Expect it to drop sometime in November.
